‘Musical Discourse on Shankara Digvijayam’- the traditional Life of Adishankarcharya scheduled on Guru Purnima (31^st July, 2015) is drawing lot of enthusiastic and exciting response. I thought it was worthwhile to share the profile of the participating artists. Here it goes-

‘All life is Yoga’ in the divine words of Sri Aurobindo. And ‘All life should be dedicated to the Lotus Feet of the Gurus or Preceptors’.  Each of us owe our existence- endeavour-accomplishments to the Gurus.

To pay tributes to the Gurus requires no appointed day. However Guru Purnima happens to be a very revered occasion to pay salutations to the Gurus.

The life and contribution of Adishankarcharya is immortalised in the golden pages of human memory. Great institutions established by Adishankarcharya have become the torch bearers of the principles of peace, happiness, harmony and universal brotherhood as extolled by Swami Vivekananda through his life and teachings.

The Shankara Vidya Kendra and the Gayatri Fine Arts- two great pioneering institutions of the National Capital are hosting a Musical Discourse on the traditional life of Adishankarcharya on this Guru Purnima. Titled ‘Shankara Digvijayam’- this musical discourse will feature eminent musicians and young talents from 5:00 pm onwards on 31^st July, 2015 (invite attached).

Respected Dr. Karan Singh- Scholar, Statesman, Diplomat and Cultural Ambassador has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest.

Professor H.S. Prasad, Head of the Department Philosophy, University of Delhi will be the Guest of Honour.

Sur Sadhana

2 decades ago, my father had a unique privilege of interviewing Dr. Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna for a splendid programme known as "Sur Sadhana". The inspiring producer of the programme Smt. Saroj Sharma went on recording the interview for an unbroken 43 mins against the origional schedule of 20 mins due to the excitement created by Dr. M.B.K and Shri. L.R.V.

The unedited two part interview has since then become a point of reference for music based interview programme in the telecast medium.
The great "Music Critic" popularly known as
"Subbuddu" accompanies Dr.M.B.K. on the Keyboard while the young Kumbakonam N.Padmanabhan plays the Mridungam.

This masterpiece interview is scheduled to be telecast by DD Bharati with the revival of "Sur Sadhana" at 11.00 pm tonight and a repeat telecast at 3.00 pm tomorrow.

"Aye mere watan ke logo" A tribute to martyrs by AKSHAYAA VIBHO

"Aye Mere Watan
Ke Logo" is not just a song but is an eternal poem in the history of
mankind. Kavi Pradeep who wrote this patriotic poem is religiously remembered
everyday by millions of patriotic Indians. When Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
listened to this glorious song rendered by the legendary Lata Mangeshkar Ji,
the great Statesman and former Prime Minister was in tears.

The song has been
remembered every year on the Martyrdom Day of the great soldiers who laid their
lives to counter the Chinese troops in 1962. The Present Prime Minister Hon'ble
Shri Narendra Modi Ji joined Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji along with lakhs of
patriotic Indians on 27th January, 2014 to pay tributes to the martyrs.

Many people have sung
this song and re-lived the patriotic moment.

Now the "VOICE
OF INNOCENCE"  has emerged from
Akshayaa who has rendered this song as an upcoming child artist in her own
emotional canvas. She needs good wishes to carry the "VOICE OF
INNOCENCE" farther.

Krishna Nee Begane Baro : New Look

Whoever said "JACK OF ALL TRADES, MASTER OF NONE". Picasso,Beethoven, Einstein - to name a few had multiple talents. Today's is a world of multi - tasking. Our earlier upload on "Krishna Nee Begane Baro" kindled spirit of competition within Amrutaa vis.a.vis the professional IT Cat. Amrutaa strived hard to make a "New Look Version Video" of the song. And here is the result which the young female drummer has attempted on her video editing debut.

Incidentally Bhanumathy's "Krishna Nee Begane Baro" featured in an audio cassette album titled "Gana Brindavanam" meant to raise funds for consecrating a Brindavan dedicated to Sri. Raghavendra Swamiji at Hanumanthapuram in Tamil Nadu.

The music album was released by HH Sri Sri Sushmindra Teertha Swamiji, Head of Sri. Raghavendra Swami Moola Brindavanam, Mantralayam in 1998.

Amrutaa's humble tribute to Sri. Udupi Krishna and Sri. Raghavendra Swamiji through her video editing talent is a token offering on World Music Day and International Father's Day. May the Divinity bless her.

Commemorating World Music Day and International Yoga Day, Akshayaa has done a great attempt towards universal peace through a prayerful song of the legendary Lata Mangeshkar ji. It reflects concerns of a child in a world torn between strife and turmoil.
