Commemorating 60th Birth Day of a famous Kathak Guru Pt. Krishan Mohan Mishra

Monday , 20^th April, 2015 happens to be a Special Day  in the Cultural Datesheet of Delhi . Kathak dancers, students and music lovers which celebrate the 60^th Birthday of Pandit Krishan Mohan Mishra, the veteran Kathak Guruji and Exponent.

Pandit Krishan Mohan Mishra is the eldest son of the famous Kathak Guru Padmashri  late Shambhu  Maharaj  of the “Kalka Bindadin Gharana” of Lucknow. Krishanji is in the 7^th generation Championing this Gharana.

Due to sudden demise of his father, Panditji came under the tutelege of the Kathak Wizard, the evergreen- everyoung Padma Vibhushan Birju Maharaj.

Krishanji is art and humility incarnate and has turned out many excellent kathak dancers. Wedded to the great Danseuse Baswati Sen, Krishnaji’s daughter Ipshita is a prominent name  in the Kathak arena. Ipshita is married to the young and dynamic Sarod player Pritam Ghoshal, disciple of the legendary Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjed Ali Khan Saheb.

One can watch and hear the entire Krishan Mohan Mishra Family , disciples and Fellow Performers including the Kathak Luminary Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj on 20^th  April ,2015 at the Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi.
